Well, during that tutorial, I found the group was asked to research into someone who inspires you, or who you admire. At the moment, I'm just trying to improve my own graphic design abilities, with regards to drawing and that. One thing I did was to go out and buy a load of nice paper and a bowl of sharpies, leaving them beside my desk just so I'd have a draw whenever I could. Create ideas and things on there. It's pretty good. Feels like I'm improving a little. I'll try to scan some of them in at some point.
Anyway, one person who I think is pretty good is a friend of mine called Chris Chilvers.

He's a professional graphic designer and has a website with plenty of things he's created on it, and, though he doesn't work in film (as far as I know) I still like his stuff and reckon I working things he draws into film would be pretty good. Here's some stuff he's done.

pretty cool

Ten on ten.

I'm gonna' do laps, basically, after that.
I like the patterns and shapes, and colours. I guess being good at that is part and parcel with being a proffessional graphic designer, but it's something I'd really like to be able to do. He definitely has his own style, and it's pretty wicked. It seems like a really random clutter of ideas, but they all work with one another. No idea how he achieves that, I'll have to ask him. I will do. I'll see if he has anyone he reckons I should look at as well.

It is well fucking futile.
